About
After decades of work on boundaries, immigration, and citizenship in early modern France, I'm now working on a book entitled "The Symbolic Lives of Animals and the Making of French Classicism," a study of the representations and uses of animals in the visual culture, science, literary texts, and political discourse during Louis XIV's early reign.
