About

I received my BA in Latin American Studies and Anthropology from the University of Miami in 2007 and have excavation experience in various regions of Mesoamerica including the Yucatan peninsula, Central Mexico, and Honduras.  I am currently a PhD student at UC Berkeley with a focus in Mesoamerican societies and a specialization in Bioarchaeology.  I am also in the Designated Emphasis program in Women, Gender, and Sexuality.

I am particularly interested in understanding the lived experiences of individuals in past societies through the utilization of archaeological and bioarchaeological methods.  Currently, my research is focused on understanding the effect that social identities, such as gender, have on the materiality of bodies and how one might be able to analyze skeletal remains in order to highlight such impacts.
